Tactics Ogre: The Knight Of Lodis - GameCritics.com
Tactics Ogre: The Knight Of Lodis is your standard strategy RPG, complete with the isometric battlefields, the labyrinthine plot (full of political intrigue, backstabbing, and more), and the slow paced game mechanics.
Younger gamers will most likely be bored by the slow pace of the game and the complexity of the battles, but children around ten and up should be able to pick up the game and enjoy it without any major difficulty.
One of the more impressive RPGs to appear recently has been Atlus' Tactics Ogre: The Knight Of Lodis, a strategy role-playing game that serves a gaiden (or side story), separate from the main game's story arc (which spans multiple chapters).

Tactics Ogre - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The game has a different style from most computer RPGs; the player builds up a team of several characters with changeable classes and fights on an isometric playing field.
This was the second game known to be directed by Yasumi Matsuno, following its prequel, Ogre Battle, with featured a considerably different game style.
Each of these games shares similar gameplay aspects with Tactics Ogre.

 Tactics Ogre - Review
All in all, Tactics Ogre is a fantastic strategy-RPG, but it's not a game for everyone.
But if you are patient, and you want a game that will keep you going for months, Tactics Ogre is a game you should definitely purchase.
If you have played Final Fantasy Tactics - which is more or less the sequel to Tactics Ogre, considering it was made by the same team of programmers, and uses the same basic game engine - you will find most of the game's features very familiar.

 Comments!
In Tactics Ogre, you could have 10 team members in battle at once, and the strategy places more emphasis on where you move your characters, how you make your physical and magical characters work together, and is in general more team-oriented.
As was said above, Tactics Ogre is more team-oriented, and your job as the player is to take the generic Soldier building blocks you are given at the start, and to steadily mold them into a more and more efficient team, a tightknit group of soldiers who find their niches and work at them.
There are several key differences in style and in gameplay that make the Tactics Ogre games very much worth playing in their own right.

Snackbar-Games.com :: Reviews :: Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis - GBA
Tactics Ogre is a turn based Strategy game.
This character customization makes the game as deep as any, and trying to become that prestigious class is oh so hard to do...
Well after a bit of research of the game I saw that it shared many of the same characteristics, so I took the chance.

Tactics Ogre - The Knight of Lodis - GBA Review
Therefore if u are a TO and tactic game fanatic then you should at least try this game out.
Tactics is what you would call a classical tactic game.
The traditional tactics elements are there but there isn't anything that makes this game stand out.

 Tactics Ogre - GBA
For the uninitiated, Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis is another installment in a long line of games in what is coming to be know as the Ogre Battle Saga.
An Ogre Battle game was also released for the Playstation, and suffered a similar fate, falling off of the sales charts, but finding a place in many gamer's hearts.
You will know them by their confident sneer as you mention that you like strategy games, and their derisive cackle as you pronounce Final Fantasy Tactics to be the best in the genre.

If the gameplay in Tactics Ogre has one flaw, it’s that it often is a very slow game.
Tactics Ogre gives you an exhaustive amount of information to consider with each move—but that’s what makes the game so compelling.
Not only can you play through Tactics Ogre a number of times with a variety of different parties, you can also play through several times and have unique experiences based on the decisions you make in the game.

When all is said and done, Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis offers 40 hours of game play.
Best described as a prequel to Tactics Ogre 64: Person of Lordly Caliber, Tactics Ogre: The Knights of Lodis has been painstakingly crafted by the same team that worked on previous Tactics Ogre games.
The Game Boy Advance becomes your battle ground as knights, wizards and beasts wage war in Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis.

Wicked Toast - Tactics Ogre: Knight of Lodis review
Having played Tactics to death, I also found the equipment selection in KoL to be rather meager, and the classes not quite as exciting.
As another addition to the Ogre saga, Knight of Lodis is a pleasantly polished game.
Whether it's (as usual) the lackluster and jarring plot or fewer options than expected from a Tactics game, it is simply yet another chapter in the Ogre Battle series.

Atlus Tactics Ogre - The Knight of Lodis Reviews
Tactics Ogre is one of those rare games that has you thinking about it when you're working, dealing with family issues, trying to get to sleep, etc., so be forewarned.
This is a true RPG, and in terms of the number one factor that makes an RPG shine, Tactics Ogre sets a new standard for RPG/Adventure gaming, whether it's on a handheld machine or not.
Anyway I finally got my henchman hands on the game everyone is talking about.

Well, the two games are nearly identical, and it seems like Tactics Ogre is a rip-off of FFT.
Quest made a Super Famicom game called Tactics Ogre.
But if you enjoyed FFT and are looking for more of the same, Tactics Ogre is probably worth a look.

Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together - Playstation Review
Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together takes place, from what I gathered, a few years after the formation of the Zetegenian empire.
Calling Tactics Ogre a typical Strategy RPG, even nowadays, would be inaccurate.
The fools at Quest ruined Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together by forgetting to include Revive items and spells, and allowing the game to be released with some of the cheapest AI I've come across in this genre.
http://www.netjak.com/review.php/439

 VideoGames : Tactics Ogre
Tactics Ogre is just flat out a better game than FFT, and unfortunatly, never recieved huge sales due to limited avalibility, but if you see it on sale anywhere, I recommend you buy it.
You've probably heard of Final Fantasy Tactics and heard great things about it, and it is a great game, but if you have the choice of Final Fantasy Tactics and Tactics Ogre, while FFT might have better graphics, Tactics Ogre is better in almost every other aspect of gameplay, period.
While lacking in the graphics department(This game was originally designed for the super famicom) this game really is one of the best RPGs on PSX(destorying FF Tactics easily).

In Tactics Ogre, the player takes on the persona of a lad named Denim, whose (stop me if you've heard this one before) hometown was burnt to the ground by a mysterious villain.
Denim's exploits are intriguing and the battles he fights represent fresh mental challenges.
It's all very much like chess only your pieces can be killed, hide behind trees, and desert if the player's decision doesn't agree with the pawn's ideology.

 Tactics Ogre Gaiden Revealed
The game will parallel the rest of the Ogre Battle series as far as mechanics go, but it will feature scenarios, events, and characters not found in Tactics Ogre, the game Tactics Ogre Gaiden resembles most gameplay-wise.
Tactics Ogre Gaiden is scheduled for a 2001 release in Japan, and though no North American release date is scheduled yet, players interested in this game can vote for it to come to North America through Nintendo's web site.
The Game Boy Advance game will also borrow popular system elements from its big brother on the Nintendo 64.

Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis Review - Printer Friendly - GameSpot
While it's true that the gameplay of Tactics Ogre for the GBA has been simplified slightly when compared with the gameplay of its predecessors, the addition of emblems and other new facets provide the game with the same overall level of depth associated with the series.
This is a complex idea, but the gameplay of Tactics Ogre truly shines, and the Game Boy Advance is a capable platform for it.
When a game tosses around as many names of countries, regions, and people as Ogre Battle does, having some reference material is invaluable.

 Ogre Missile Tactics
If you've got the Ogre down to M2 and it has to go under a HWZ to get to the CP, focus everything on the missiles and let the HWZs (you do have more than one, don't you?) do the rest.
The Ogres missiles give both players some tough choices, like lots of things in Ogre.
A Two to-One attack has a fifty-fifty chance of taking out an Ogre weapon, whereas two One-to-Ones have a 56% of destroying it, with an 11% chance of hitting two things (44% NE, 44% NE/X, 11% X/X!).

As for the tactics, this is another "take all your characters and beat the snot out of the enemy" game.
I'd recommend "Final Fantasy Tactics" over this game anyday.
They're helped in this aim by a group of exiled warriors from Zenobia: the heroes of the first game in the Ogre Battle Saga.

 IGN PlayStation Reader Review
At this point I hadn't played Ogre Battle on the SNES yet, so it was a fresh name.
The story can also be shaped by the player, as your decisions impact other people and the plot, and their respective outcomes.
Heck, even without the 3 major alignment paths, the game is massive and offers a ton of content and sub challenges for players to embark on.

Amazon.com: Computer & Video Games: Tactics Ogre
First off, Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis is a sidestory (the intro calls it an "excerpt") that's only tangentially related to the three games in the larger Ogre Battle Saga.
Like the original Tactics Ogre, this game is a strategy/RPG much like Final Fantasy Tactics (which boasted many of the same designers, and which has been announced for GBA release).
As in the other Ogre Battle games, eventually you fall out with your original group and must forge a new path of your own, determined by your decisions.

MobyGames - Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis
Tactics Ogre's gameplay is squad-based and turn-based, just like Final Fantasy Tactics, and despite many RPG elements, the game almost entirely consists of combat.
Aside from the main campaign, Tactics Ogre also offers a VS mode and a Quest mode, in which the player must complete objectives they set themselves within a certain number of turns to earn rare items to use in the campaign mode.
Finally, there is also an option to exchange characters and items between players with a link cable.

If you have played any of the Tactics Ogre games, or played Final Fantasy Tactics, then you know that it would not be a complete game without a character class system.
TOKOL looks like better than the Tactics Ogre game on SNES.
Unlike Castlevania: Circle of the Moon, this game is not dark at all.

Tactics Ogre was good for the first Strategy RPG on the GBA, but the lack of storyline, and repetitive battle then dialogue, was very annoying....
If you are a true fan of such games as Vandal Hearts or Final Fantasy Tactics, yes I suggest go for it....
Play T.O., but, if you want to start playing Strategy RPGs, I think you should start with something else....

Final Fantasy Tactics Advance - Walkthrough - www.cheat-database.com
If you have played the original Final Fantasy Tactics, or any of the Ogre Battle/Tactics Ogre series, or even Advance Wars; this game should be familiar territory.
To get it back you just trade, preferably using the same method in reverse so GameBoy B has a copy and GameBoy A has 2, but that is dependent upon Gameboy B having 2 slots useable, which should be the case unless you are running two concurrent games, which would be silly.
A whole slew of Square developed GameBoy Advance games, one being a "pseudo-sequel" to the best (and only) Final Fantasy based strategy game, Final Fantasy Tactics.

 Tactics Ogre - By Nekron - Glasko.com
To me and many other die hard fans of the Ogre Battle series this game falls in quite nicely and deserves all 5 stars!
Although some people complain of too much dialogue I say that how can you have a great epic game without a great epic story.
This amazing style of play sparked something huge and Square saw this and came out with its own version Final Fantasy Tactics.

Shining Force Central - An Introduction to the Shining Series
While other games allowed you to play as three - perhaps four - characters, the Shining Force consisted of twelve active characters and almost double that in reserve, allowing the player to really customise his or her team and their skills.
Something I've always loved about the series is the way in which the storyline and overall Shining-feel is never lost, no matter what format the gameplay may be.
The Shining series is best known for its gameplay, which was, at the time of its release, unlike most other RPGs on the market.
