 Squaresoft Past and Future
Squaresoft has given me more gaming memories than any other company around, from the first Final Fantasy game I ever played eleven years ago on a Gameboy to Xenogears, whose deep story line will stay with me always.
After that I drifted away from console games as I played more and more PC games.
During a short movie about their upcoming games, Squaresoft very quickly flashed a picture of Aya, then the words, "she's back." I haven't seen anything else about it, and it wasn't in their press kit.
http://www.justadventure.com/articles/Squaresoft/Squaresoft.shtm

 Squaresoft Feature
Squaresoft then released a few games of different genres.
Squaresoft, like any game developer, has had not only great triumphs but also great falls.
Squaresoft has entertained gamers for almost 20 years, and many hope it will continue its legacy of great role-playing games.

 [No title]
I wrote this all myself on my knowledge from playing the games.) Most of the games which SquareSoft has created are fantasy role-playing games (RPGs).
This game is more difficult than most SquareSoft games, and the puzzles and mazes are more difficult to solve.
- Squaresoft also made a racing game for the NES, but I can't remember what it is called.

GameCube Heaven -- W.W.S.D.- What Would Shiggy Do?
Squaresoft needed a quick source of cash, and luckily Nintendo and Square found a way to shake hands once again.
Back when the NES was the console to have, Nintendo and Squaresoft were hand in hand.
There will be an attack button (probably A), and then their will probably be buttons for block, quick magic and other such things you would expect from a role-playing game.

 The Rumors Of SquareSoft
SquareSoft knows how to keep it alive by using a new story each time, and making it a little different each time.
To my, (and the world's) current knowledge, SquareSoft has no plan to make a sequel to one of their greatest games ever.
SquareSoft does have a long standing of great cartridge games, but CDs provide a better maximum usage and this is Square's decision

Unofficial FFSite Forums - Your first Squaresoft game?
The first Squaresoft game that I ever played was Seiken Densetsu 2.
Oct 19, 2002 12:16 AM The first Squaresoft game I ever played was.....
Then after a while, started playing other Squaresoft games such as Final Fantasy VIII and VII and Chrono Trigger.

Final Fantasy IX by Squaresoft - A Game Monkeys Review!
I wrote a letter to Squaresoft explaining what I thought could be done to make their next game better.
The game play during battles is, for the most part, the same as it has been in the past eight Final Fantasy offerings.

WomenGamers.Com - Because Women DO Play
In fact, the male gamers that I talked to said that they were more likely to play a game with a female lead than a similar game with a male lead because they are generally a little bit more thought out and the plot ideas are fresher.
But the pioneering men and women at Squaresoft have worked hard at breaking the RPG mold, going where no game has gone before with the Final Fantasy series.
If one brilliant game were to center and build around a female hero, it could open the eyes of game companies everywhere and finally give women the place in RPG gaming that they deserve!

Rotten Tomatoes Forums - Squaresoft sucks
Square can be commended for at least pushing games of quality, that were obviously worked on very hard, and differeing the story lines and settings from game to game which at least makes the games unique in their own way (although with FF X-2 I guess this is going away too)
My thoughts on all the Squaresoft games I played:
I don't think squaresoft sucks, but am playing Final Fantasy X for the first time right now.

For whom the bell tolls - The creation of Final Fantasy VII.
Squaresoft Exec: "No, we're making the game "mature", not hard.
Squaresoft Exec: *Pulls out a cocktail napkin and throws it down on the table* “There we go!”
Squaresoft Exec: “But then, really shortly into the game, the real bad guy shows up and kills everybody at the evil empire headquarters with a sword this long!”

 Kingdom Hearts
Squaresoft and Disney Interactive invite players to embark on a fantastic journey, explore strange and familiar worlds, meet old and new friends, and make amazing discoveries at every turn.
This revolutionary relationship has created an entirely new genre of game - an 'Action RPG' that combines classic Disney characters and worlds with new elements created in the renowned Squaresoft style.

Epinions.com - Knights of the Squaresoft table
Squaresoft placed their popular title at the end of the Super Nintendo's life span, but for a hell of time to still be able to enjoy the game back then made it worth it.
Turn based battle RPG games don't involve real time battles (most of the time), and have more of a broad range in the battle system.
They're the creators of such widely played games as the Final Fantasy series, and Chrono Trigger games.

 Beginners Guide to Squaresoft
Most Squaresoft games have a menu that you choose commands from in Battle mode.
Go to your Squaresoft game, put it back in it's box, return it to the store you got it at, leave my page, and never come back, because YOU ARE TOO STUPID TO DESERVE TO BE PLAYING A SQUARESOFT GAME!
When you encounter the monsters, you go into Battle mode.

 Squaresoft Facts and Rumors
Squaresoft has said they are interested in making games for the Nintendo Dolphin.
Looks like the start of the next millenium is going to be a blast for gamers and Squaresoft alike.
It should be interesting to see what happens to this title if it does come across the border, but I expect the sales to be low just because of the fact that the first game of the series still makes many gamers scared of buying the second game.

But if its already one from a squaresoft game we probably know it, but if you have the urge to do it anyway go ahead!

Eyes on Final Fantasy Forums - Best Squaresoft game ever
In any case, I chose not to vote, because while ffvi, vagrant story, and xenogears are some of my favorite games of all times, I don't think squaresoft was well represented by the poll.
05-01-2003 11:06 PM Not sure, although if Kishi saw this, he might add the 20 billion squaresoft games you missed to that poll :p
Sure it gets points for being so mind-bogglingly beautiful when it first came out

 Terebi II: Squaresoft Hard
I was playing Parasite Eve, another Squaresoft game, for a fair stretch yesterday, saving often to protect my progress.
Remember when I quit playing Final Fantasy X because they threw me into a decimating guantlet battle right after fighting a boss monster, with no save allowed in between?
I had gotten nearly all the way through Day Four, saved, and proceeded to meet the boss monster for that level.

Enix, Squaresoft, and Namco Chat About Their Agreement
Perhaps the most interesting to RPGamers may be Enix's inability to divulge information as to whether Dragon Quest VIII will have online capabilites, or if the game will be using PlayOnline.
This could be a good sign for RPGamers, as it is possible they could play several different RPGs online through one flat fee.
Enix and Squaresoft also made mention of an unnamed game coming out in Spring 2002.

One of Squaresoft's most memorable Final Fantasies, Final Fantasy 7 features seamless 3D gameplay and animation, hundreds of beautiful pre-rendered, computer-generated backgrounds, real-time battles, and an engrossing storyline that made it one of the largest and most richly detailed gaming experiences ever created.
Here you will find cheat codes, secret areas revealed, ect.

Squaresoft.....and other systems - Gaming Evolved Forums: From Past to Future - One Evolution
Although I have the benefit of these Sony systems, I would love to play a Squaresoft game on my GCN or Xbox.
Do you miss that Squaresoft would have games such as Final Fantasy on other systems instead of just Sony systems?
Too bad it isn't very likely, although Square and MS have been talking....

Compare Prices and Read Reviews on Suikoden for PlayStation 1 at Epinions.com
Putting BOF & PS aside, it wasn't until later when Konami unleashed Suikoden, their rookie venture into the seemingly hostile RPG territory, did gamers realize that there were others besides Square's FF series that were actually worth playing.
Suikoden 1: Konami takes a jab at Squaresoft
From the early days of the 8-bit NES to the present day PSX, Square has always been a leader in the RPG scene with the help of their flagship Final Fantasy series, which was vastly superior to all other RPGs of its time.

 Lovemarks Squaresoft
It can do no wrong - at game fairs fans line up 2-400 deep and wait for over an hour at the Squaresoft booth for just 7 minutes of play on the demo version of a new game.
I'm a huge fan on FF8(still), even though the game doesn't have the best graphics, the game play and story line stole my heart.
To the Final Fantasy fanatics, Squaresoft is loved.

 Squaresoft News
To cap off this news bit, let it be known that Squaresoft shall once again rule the gaming world!
They have shown signs of increasing their game-base by releasing games that have not been RPGs, some of which include racing, fighting, and other games.
However, this does not affect Final Fantasy XI with its announcement that it will be entirely an online game.

Squaresoft Final Fantasy X PS2 Review
Just simply navigating the game can be very difficult.
But it's not a perfect game, and after all these years, you'd think Squaresoft would have all the wrinkles ironed out.
The art design is the best in the industry and the story, while it's no "Alice in Wonderland", has the depth and texture to make the long journey an entertaining one.

The only reason I have a stick is for evasion; Getting people off of me. If I see an opportunity to get behind someone and rip them apart, sure, why not, but until I master my new stick, I'm not going to go searching for full-on dogfights.
Yeah, squaresoft is a great company for both games and movies, but they need to re-think that storyline on FF the movie.
Call me a fanboy or whatever, but i know squaresoft is king for rpg's, and probably will be for quite some time.

Amazon.com: Computer & Video Games: Final Fantasy VIII
The basis of a good RPG (role-playing game) has always been the story; spectacular graphics are secondary.
Square and their games are not perfect, but they certainly come closer to perfection than anyone else.
Sometimes accused of being "masochistic" or "mindless" Squaresoft fans, the truth of the matter is that over the course of many years and many games, we have seen Squaresoft time and time again show that they simply tower above the competing videogame developers.

SquareSoft president steps down - PlayStation 2 News at GameSpot
Under Wada, SquareSoft said that it will initiate a restructuring of its business plan in the face of a rapidly changing video game market.
Much of its losses can be attributed to the less-than-stellar performance of the Final Fantasy film, which grossed a little more than $30 million worldwide, well short of the expected $90 million revenue goal.
Final Fantasy XI is an online RPG that manages to break the mold, if just barely--but, actually, that's no mean feat.
