Nintendo Power - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
NES Achievers / Power Player's Challenge / Arena - Players send in their best game scores to try to win free T-shirts.
Nintendo Power has also produced another series of strategy magazines called Player's Guides.
The concept is now emulated by other publishing companies such as Brady Games or Prima for Nintendo and other video game consoles.

 nintendo power
Nintendo had to produce games of highest quality to insure continued prosperity.
There is a three to five proportion of first-party games made by Nintendo themselves to Nintendo systems, the hardware.
In 1983 a Japanese company called Nintendo Corporation Limited attempted to seize the video game market while Atari Corporation, American company and creator of the renowned game “Pong,” was rapidly failing (Sheff 150).

 Nintendo Power Magazine
As a side note, Nintendo had, for the longest time, a free game hint line (Game Counselors line, as it was called).
The magazine, of course, has game reviews for popular games; this was Nintendo Power's strongest point.
They used to also devote half of one of the two letters pages to a "Power Player", some guy who either thought he was cool, or someone wrote in talking about some guy they know that they think is so cool, because he beat X number of games and got scores X high.

The internet is littered with Nintendo emulators that allow people to play their favorite games on their computer.
Nintendo even announced that the Revolution may feature an online service where players can purchase classic Nintendo games and store them on the system's hard-drive, similar to iTunes.

 Gamecubeguy.com: >>Why Nintendo Power sucks.
Nintendo Power is, by far, the most lenient game reviewer of all printed and internet publications.
Since all scores Nintendo Power gives out are highly inflated, a rating of four out of five stars practically means that making sculptures out of shredded human liver is more fun than playing the game.
If the game gets five stars, then it can mean anything from "Use this game to put you to sleep" to "The best gave ever created." Actual opinions expressed by the team are limited to ONE SENTENCE by a couple of the staff members.

 Nintendo Power's November 2005 Issue (#197) - Joystiq
Nintendo might release more kids-oriented games than every other developer out there, but the most important fact is that those "kid" games are 100x better than 99% of the "non-kid" games out in the industry today.
Nintendo has always aimed their games toward the kids, I don't expect that to change anytime soon.
Nintendo did NOT develop or publish the Resident Evil games.
