Topic: The Last Ninja

 The Last Ninja Archives
The Last Ninja was (and still is) one of my favourite games on the C64 (and many other systems).
Last Ninja was the most successful original game ever on the Commodore C64.
You could also take a look at the homepage of a Team Fortress Classic Last Ninja clan or browse another LN site.

GamingWorld X - The Last Ninja Preview
Where past ninja games have either solely on action or stealth, The Last Ninja looks to combine the two with a control scheme that matches everything well.
This comes in the form of ninja magic, various spells that have different effects upon the enemy.
Set in Japan’s Edo period (which began in the early 17th century), the game opens with the demise of the clan of a young Ninja, Armakuni.

 Book of Ninja
the last ninja games have always been my fav games.
i still have all the orginal games on tape of the last ninja games c64.
"Last Ninja 2 + 3" were - and still are - one of the best games I`ve ever played!

 Last Ninja 3 (Ninja 3)
The puzzles in Ninja 3 are a lot tougher than the earlier games, often requiring a combination of 3 or 4 items to solve.
If you're unfamiliar with the visual format of the Ninja games, they are viewed in an isometric perspective with room around the bottom and right of the main screen to show your stats etc. The design itself doesn't hang together as well as the earlier games.
In conclusion this is a tough game that's, at times, a little unfair, the stepping stone jumping that will have annoyed some people in Ninja Remix is back with a vengeance in Ninja 3 more annoying than ever before, though only on one screen thankfully.

Last Ninja - Digital Press Online
In my opinion "The Last Ninja" is a pure classic in the truest sense of the word, action adventure games up until that point hadn't been done with such style and attention to detail than this one.
Not only was Ninja a quest (you found items and used them to solve puzzles) but it was a great fighting game to boot with intense and challenging battles.
Because it had a preview for "The Last Ninja", a game that by just reading the preview and ogling the screenshots had managed to put me into a Zen state of droolness.

Fujita Seiko: The Last Koga Ninja
Draeger then goes on to mention that the ninja often came from this shunned class, the hinin, and thus, Ninjutsu had always thrived for the very reason that it was a close knit system that was completely hidden from anyone outside its immediate family circle.
In the end, it seems, that Fujita was, as he intended, the last ninja of the Koga Ryu Wada Ha.
He also mentions the Ninja Museum, saying that "among other things it has the archive of books, clothing and weapons belonging to the 'last Ninja,' Fujita Seiko" (Turnbull, 148).

 Last Ninja 2
If you're unfamiliar with the visual format of the Ninja games, they are viewed in an isometric perspective with room around the bottom and right of the main screen to show your stats etc. Much the same as the first game, the levels make up your journey.
The game 'Last Ninja 2' is again an Amiga version of the C64 game with the maps & puzzles making it across intact.
The C64 'Last Ninja 2' was everything it should have been, a bigger, better & bolder game than it's prequel.

 CRASH 59 - Last Ninja 2
Last Ninja 2 is a great game which deserves to do well.
Last Ninja 2: the long awaited sequel to a game which unfortunately never appeared on the Spectrum.
All this flashy packaging doesn't automatically mean that the game is great but thankfully Last Ninja 2 lives up to the hype.

 Review of The Last Ninja
The Last Ninja I played most was the second game so that one has a special place in my heart but I got addicted to this one as well.
The Last Ninja is one of those rare games which offers hours of consistently puzzling and enjoyable gameplay.
There's something about The Last Ninja which reminds me of an Ultimate adventure, although that said, this is far more enjoyable to play...

 Review of Last Ninja II
Luckily, with its sequel, Last Ninja 2 (perhaps the original should have been called The Penultimate Ninja!), all aspects of the game have been improved, and indeed embellished, to create a game which is both faultless in appearance and playability.
The last game with oriental overtones to make any impact was Bangkok Knights also by System 3, as was the previous blockbuster beat'em up, International Karate +, and now we have the sequel to their most famous game, The Last Ninja.
Across loads, the scope of these graphics is huge, and puts the heroic ninja in many situations, from leaping to catch a helicopter which then whiskes him away to the shogun's island, to battling a Samurai secretary on the narrow ledge of a skyscraper.

The Last Ninja: First Look - Xbox
While the game is a solitary mission, there is a mentor, Makrin, for the players that acts as a guiding spirit throughout the game.
The Last Ninja is a combination of action, adventure, strategy, exploration, stealth, and combat action.
Gamers play Armakuni, the last surviving member of the greatest Ninja clan during the Edo period of Japan.

The Last Ninja E3 2003 Preshow Report - Xbox News at GameSpot
Though the game was originally scheduled for release back at the end of 2002, Simon and Schuster's The Last Ninja, an Xbox-exclusive continuation of the classic Commodore 64 series, was pushed back six months for additional development time.
In the game, you will take on the role of Armukuni, the sole survivor of a renowned ninja clan that has been all but wiped out, thanks to an evil shogun known only as Kunitoki, whose aims are to take control of feudal Japan through methods of black magic and military domination.
With the game currently set for release in August, Simon and Schuster will be showing the game at its E3 2003 booth.

The Last Ninja 2 - Night Gem
To make the Ninja somersault, either to avoid attack or to overcome some hazard, such as jumping from one wall to another, you should make the Ninja run in the direction you want him to somersault, and while he is moving press the fire button.
But even with these flaws The Last Ninja 2 is still one of the best adventure games ever.
Go back into the last room and jump the gap.

 IGN: The Last Ninja Preview
Originally a Commodore 64 game, The Last Ninja went on to have two sequels.
The game was all but forgotten, but gamers are about to get a sharp reminder of the game's gripping story and action-packed gameplay.
You are Armakuni, the last of Japan's greatest ninja clan during Japan's Edo period.

Commodore 64 games, C64 reviews, downloads, SID tunes ect.
And although this game perhaps is a bit bleak when you compare it with the two sequels "Back With A Vengeance" and "Last Ninja 3", the standard was set with this game.
If you ask somebody who had an original C64 to tell about the greatest games on availabe on that computer, chances are good that he or she would very quickly start talking about the "Last Ninja" series.
However, I'd really like to not whether or not the ninja's eyes are supposed to not have any eyelashes.

 The Last Ninja
The Last Ninja was converted to the Apple IIgs by Activision in 1988, the original game having been created for the Commodore 64.
Activision had started out on a high note with some great GS games in 1986 and 1987, but The Last Ninja certainly didn't carry on the standard in 1988.
In The Last Ninja you become last of a slaughtered ninja clan, your only purpose now to exact revenge against your brothers' killers.

Simon & Schuster Last Ninja - The Return Reviews
Personally every ninja game features, ninjas all dressed in black with only their eyes showing.
Shift into 3rd to go into "super fantastic ninja mode" and kill every enemy on every level in every game you've ever played.
Based on the legendary game series, The Last Ninja Trilogy, this classic tale pits a lone Ninja warrior against the massed dark forces of the evil Shogun.

Last Ninja Solve This is not completely mine but I have added and corrected some things.
Walk around until you find a chamber with 2 rows of steel rings on the wall (like a ladder), kill the enemy and climb up with the rope.
There are two squares - you must jump and land inside the smaller.

 The Last Ninja
The magic of The Last Ninja Series is hard to explain.
Perhaps it's because of that music from level 1, from the first game.
It contains info about the C64 version of the game (I never played the Amiga versions) and how to beat it (should you still be stuck ^_^).

 C64 ~ The Last Ninja 2 Review
In this game, you control a Ninja to make it to the end of each level by solving these little puzzles along the way.
For: ninjas are cool, darn good graphics, some of the best C64 music, good puzzles, good to come back to every now and then.
The game plays on different screens, so when you move into an edge of a screen, a new screen with a different scene pops up.

Last Ninja to Slice Xbox - Xbox
Simply titled Last Ninja: The Return, the game follows in MGS' stealthy footsteps, with effects that 'have yet to be seen on a computer', according to Studio 3 MD Mark Cale.
Aging gamers will recall the big-selling Last Ninja trilogy on the C64 of the late 80s, but the next gen version will dispense with the isometric view to enable the user to play from a variety of perspectives, including first person.
The title will emerge next Christmas on Xbox, PS2 and PC, with many publishers currently fighting it out to distribute the game.

TNL Forum - Last Ninja: The Return
With all this talk about old ninja game franchises being revived, I was surprised no one was excited about The Last Ninja.
Even those who never venture outside console gaming should have at least played the NES version of Last Ninja 2, which isn't rare.
In fact I was going to start a thread about it, but predictably, Neozeedeater beat me to it.

 ninja
People of my age, who owned (and often still owns) a C64, will always remember a serie of games produced by System3 that featured a ninja called Armakuni always fighting an evil demon-shogun called Kunitoki...
Work is goin' quite well, the ninja already runs, jumps, do punches and spinning kicks (!), but 3d BGs are rough and textures totally inappropriate, anyway take a look at the photos, a major update will arrive in August, OK?
And it's that spirit I want to reprise in a new "Last Ninja" PC game featuring:

 Ninja
So pardon me as I need to hit Chinatown (Does DC have a Chinatown?) and look to see if there are any drowning children (it sure did rain last night!) or perhaps a bullied girl whose honor I can save and therefore get my own Ninja.
Besides the fact that I am a decent human being and I know that once he has sworn a life debt to me he must serve me in every way, I would rather not have a disgruntled ninja in my keep.
I do not want to *become* a Ninja.

When i start the last ninja 1 it comes up with "select graphics" and tandy is the only one dat works but the screen just gos black.
I remember having last ninja 2 (I belive it was) for the commadore 64.
I would recommend it to anyone who has a C64 emu and has completed the LN series of games.

 Last Ninja II
If you like quick, flashy beat 'em ups, then it'll suit you fine, but if you really want something big and fleshy to get your teeth into (fnar) then Ninja II is the only game that will do.
So what happened to the much advertised Last Ninja I?

Voodoo Extreme: The Last Ninja Preview
The gameplay will meld various styles of play with a strong plot that mixes traditional mysticism, fantasy elements and dramatic cut-scenes to create a cinematic experience that should immerse the player into the mysterious, shadowy world of ninja assassins.
Fans of the original games will hardly recognize the Xbox edition, since the game has undergone a radical makeover thanks to today's improved technology.
Simon and Schuster's The Last Ninja is a continuation of a long-running series that originally appeared on the Commodore 64 and later the NES back in the late 80's.

Fujita Seiko: The Last Koga Ninja
In 1959, Fujita wrote a book, which he titled Doronron: Saigo No Ninja (The Last Ninja), recounting how his grandfather had passed on the secrets of his family Koga Ryu Wada Ha system to him.
The impact of such a statement, to an authority of the nature of the Bugei Ryuha Daijiten, is clear.
There are two additional entries that mention Fujita, one on the bottom of page 921, that is simply entered as "Wada Ryu," and which is said to be the same as Koga Ryu Wada Ha.
