Topic: Hanzo Hattori (Samurai Shodown)

Hattori Hanzo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
He is also featured prominently in SNK Playmore 's fighting game series: Samurai Shodown (Masaki Usui did Hanzo's voice in Samurai Shodown 1, but since Samurai Shodown 2, Hanzo has been voiced by Toshimitsu Arai, who also did Rugal's voice).
In the backstory for Ninja Burger, Hattori Hanzo is the ancestor of the modern clan of ninja that went on to found the mythical fast food chain.
Hattori Hanzō (服部半蔵) ( 1541- 1596), also formally known as Masanari or Masashige (服部正成, Hattori Masanari), was a ninja, the son of a certain Hattori Yasunaga.

 Samurai Shodown Review
The samurai Yagyu Jubei, the ninja Hattori Hanzo, and the priest Amakusa Shiro Tokisada all actually existed, although these interpretations are (obviously) somewhat inaccurate, and the revolution leader Charlotte seems inspired by "Joan of Arc".
Samurai Shodown's is unique among SNES fighting games in its visual style and tone.
Samurai Shodown is, at one level, a Street Fighter 2 clone with a medieval Japanese setting, and, at another level, an elegant ballet of fist, feet, and swords.

 Coin-Op Museum: Samurai Shodown
Some of the characters in this game are based on real-life historical figures such as Miyamoto Musashi (Haohmaru), Amakusa Shirou Tokisada and Hanzo Hattori.
The game is called Samurai Spirits in Japan.
This is a very simply addition to a SF2 style cabinet.

 ToxicUniverse.com - Crystal Dynamics - 1994 - Samurai Shodown Games Review
Character design is amazing and includes many familiar faces, such as the Samurai Haohmaru, a Kabuki dancer called Kenshiro, the French fencer Charlotte, and an assortment of ninja, such as Hanzo Hattori, Earthquake and my favorite, Galford (with his pet dog Poppy).
Samurai Shodown is a 2D fighter set in feudal Japan.
Overall, I highly recommend Samurai Shodown for the 3DO to anyone who still owns the system and is a fan of fighters.

 STARK RAVING MAD
Anyway, Samurai Shodown 5 brings together a lot of familiar fighters from the past SS games, such as Haohmaru, Genjuro, Charlotte Christine Colde, Nakoruru, Rimururu, Tam Tam, Kyoshiro, Hanzo Hattori, Galford, Gaira, Basara, Sogetsu, Kazuki and more.
One is Samurai Shodown Special, which is apparently a cracked version/port of the latest game in the SS series- which is COOL since normally you'd need to have a NEO GEO arcade unit to play that.
Joining the veterans are some new combatants, including a sexy, scantily-clad archer girl, a HUGE demon, a warrior with more swords than he has arms, an 'evil' version of Nakoruru and an old man who looks a bit like Han Myoung from the Soul Edge games.
