 halo, film - Rampancy
Is the film version of Cortana going to be less reliable, perhaps more rampant, than the one in the original game?
The film, of course, has no such need for doing that; so before the Chief ever makes it to the bridge, he's picked up a couple of weapons and already started taking his toll on Covenant boarding forces.
It also goes without saying that in Halo 1 you can't board Ghosts as the Chief does in this sequence; but there's no reason why the writer has to restrict himself to the limitations on character actions that are solely the result of game play mechanics, especially outdated ones.

Ridley Scott to bring Halo to a cinema near you. Excited? : Guardian Unlimited Gamesblog
I thougt it never hapened if they are doing a film of halo world I would be the fisrt to see it I loved the books and the game was superb.
If those responsible for the idea of making a film of Halo 2 decide to jettison just about everything from the games bar names of races and locations, there is a tiny, tiny possibility it might be good.
Invariably when Hollywood makes a film of a game, it picks one from a genre where plot, character development and dialogue are nothing more than baubles, pleasant distractions but not strictly necessary to the core mechanic of clicking a button every time an enemy comes into the range of a crosshair.

You see, I never played the Halo games (Kellvin finished both Halo games), hell I don’t even own an Xbox.
All I am merely saying in my opinion because of the level of quality surrounded with Halo, that Halo will be the 800 pound gorilla to beat, which will most likely set the standard for video game movies which all others will be measured against.

Street Fighter--From Video Game to Anime
Although Street Fighter is not the only video game to be adapted for film and television, it alone has seen several versions, both American and Japanese, and thus offers a case study of how a game can be transformed into different styles of animated entertainment.
These five become the film's main characters, while the other game characters make cameo appearances, incorporated into the action at key points in a plot that follows Bison's attempts to locate and abduct the world's top street fighters and brainwash them into working for him.

 Street Fighter Storytelling: A History
In other words—from the thinly audible lyrics “Street Fighter” during the song overheard at the beginning, to the riveting rally near the middle, to the little bits of game homage around the end—it’s pretty much a “fun” movie.
One option of “Street Fighter” storytelling, perhaps a resort in some cases, is to cast a shade of ambiguity over certain details surrounding the character of Guile—who’s called Colonel or Captain and given a designated branch on some occasions, while being simply introduced as a “Special Forces” representative here, or something akin to that elsewhere.
Certain staples of Japanese animation, such as humor and growingly recognizable sequences, are well integrated into this series, as are a few staples of “Street Fighter” lore, such as nods to rivalries and other well-known happenings.

Dungeons & Dragons -- the game that the movie is based upon -- is the mother of all role-playing-games, and was created back in the day when such a game involved players sitting around, discussing what they were going to do, and then rolling dice to see if their "character" accomplished this feat.
In the film, the young and idealistic Empress Savina, wants all her people to be equal -- regardless of whether they are mage or commoner -- and rules the Empire of Izmer.

The fact that is uses elements from some of the "Resident Evil" games make things even worse because these elements have been translated to the screen too literal, without adapting them to the medium properly, making the film a disappointment for everyone but maybe the hardest-core Resident Evil fanatics.
What was worse is that it kept doing it until the point that I turned it off some 50 minutes into the movie because I could no longer stand the superficial "cool" of the film, the barrage of moronic dialogue and the superhero-like attitudes of the players.
