Fédération Internationale des Échecs - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
FIDE has been criticised by the Association of Chess Professionals (ACP) as well as individual players.
FIDE stepped up to organise a tournament to find a replacement, and the Soviet Union, aware that this was a process it had to be involved with, joined.
From that initial 1948 tournament (won by Mikhail Botvinnik) to 1993, FIDE was the only body organising world chess championships.

 hess master information,chess master
A hess master is a chess player of such skill that he can nearlyalways beat players of the general strength found in chess clubs, whothemselves typically can nearly always prevail against the level of play generally possessed by the average player in the generalpopulation.
Among chess players, the term is often abbreviated to master, the meaning being clear from context.
In the United States, players who achieve a United States Chess Federation (USCF) chess rating of 2200 are automatically awarded a National Master title, while players who maintain such a rating for 300 or more games are awarded a Life Master title.

National Scholastic Chess Foundation Hikaru Nakamura earns final International Master Norm
In each FIDE tournament, scoring standards are set for IM (International Master) and GM (Grandmaster) based on the tournament "Category", which in turn is based on the average FIDE rating of the opponents faced.
The players he faced in the 129-player open included five Grandmasters and three International Masters.
The players he faced in the 161-player open included two Grandmasters and seven International Masters.

Mmegi Online ::> news we need to know
He is puzzled by the omission as the requirements of FIDE are that a tournament should have four rated players in order to qualify for rating.
The women players still have to play outside the country to get FIDE ratings as at present, there are only two active rated players.
Botswana Chess Federation (BCF) submitted the results of this year’s national championship to FIDE but the players are surprised that their ratings have not been updated.

The Easy Road to Chess Mastery Down Under
Needless to say none of the ratings of any of the 14 players has ever reached the usual FIDE level for the title and it was impossible for any Australian to score an IM norm in the Zonal.
It is absurd that very weak club players in the men's zonal beat 2 players rated below 1400 and scored 2.5 out of 7 (draws with each other) against players over 1400 and are now internationally titled.
If the claims for new FIDE titles are approved all the players rated above FIDE 2140 in the event will have international titles.

Imagine this: There are about 900 players in the 1998 New York Open, but only two Bulgarian fellows.
Every time I played Sicilian it was a risk, because if I didn't win I was going to get yelled at by my coach, for not playing 1.e4 e5!

 www.chess.net - Master Title
Since we allow players from beginner to the National Master level on Chess.net (The server is located in USA and the USCF had National Masters), we have received many requests from strong players to have such a title here.
To make the chances to obtain a Chess.net Title equal for everybody, the decision was made to establish a Chess.net Master Title.
To avoid confusion due to too many different Master Titles, we use the established National Master Title (NM) for this.

 Highly Recommended Chess Books
Despite the authors claim that this book is not intended as an instructional book I think that it would be difficult for someone to study it without becoming a better player.
The second half looks at how the rules layed down by Nimzowich are now seen as being little more than rules of thumb which modern Masters often dispense with.
However, in conjunction with a monograph on the opening you wish to play this will give you a more complete (and objective) picture.

How will I be able to recognize someone as a bona fide spiritual master?
Give up the search, for if ya find someone, it may well be from the senses that you make the decision.
If the Vaishnavas do not play the role of spiritual master, then the transcendental family of Vaishnavas will dwindle and disappear.
One should think of the spiritual master in the same way that one thinks of Krishna, for he is in no way less than or inferior to Krishna.

Sri Caitanya Caritamrta Madhya-lila Chapter 24 Verse 330
Such a relationship is condemned by Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākura, who calls such spiritual masters and disciples a society of cheaters and cheated.
The spiritual master has to select a mantra for his disciple according to the disciple's ability to chant different mantras.
Their aim is to make the connection between the spiritual master and the disciple into a very cheap thing.

 FIDE
According to some people, Elo changed the nature of Chess as radically as the Italian amateur in Renaissance times who gave the Pawn the option of moving two cells on the first move, instead of just one, some 500 years ago.
A breakaway group known as the ‘Grandmasters Association’ (GMA) was founded in 1987.
International ratings are published by FIDE twice a year, on 1 January for events from the preceding June to November, and on 1 July for events in the preceding December to May. There are two lists, one for men over 2,200 and the other for women over 1800.

A Bona-Fide Spiritual Master Speaks Perfect Knowledge
In the beginning there are so many questions and the disciple must also test his intending spiritual master to see if he is actually qualified, there is no shortage of false, cheating gurus...
And as far as >s> people accepting such an authority, they may or they may not, but the >s> knowledge he speaks is perfect.
But intelligent, thoughtful people also surrender to a bona fide spiritual master to get real knowledge...

No one can be a bona fide spiritual master without following this principle of disciplic succession.
One has to approach a bona fide spiritual master to receive the knowledge.

Srila Prabhupada has confirmed many times in his personal letters and conversations that he was *ONLY* following the order of his spiritual master and the sastra reconfirms this fact.
Materialistic men are not interested in taking directions from a liberated person, but they are very much interested in their own concocted ideas, which make them repeatedly fail in their attempts.
