Doshin the Giant - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Doshin the Giant (巨人のドシン in Japanese) is a Nintendo god simulation game for the Nintendo 64DD released in Japan on December 1, 1999.
Doshin inhabits an island called Barudo, and the objective of the game is to to build monuments for the four tribes (Red, Blue, Yellow and Green).
The original game is probably the most successful game, which was made for the 64DD and was bundled with the console.

Samurai Nintendo : Doshin The Giant (GameCube review)
Doshin is a slow and peaceful game, which can turn a bit violent according to the way you play, but only to make you feel ill at ease (unless you're a brainless idiot as afore mentioned).
Doshin is not the kind of game you'll like if you're a brainless idiot who cannot stand anything but uninterrupted fast and violent action.
It's up to the player to choose when being Doshin or Jashin.

Gaming Illustrated - Doshin The Giant review
Doshin is a very simple game and I do worry for its longevity, there isn't a great deal to do and what there is isn't particularly taxing and it is very slow paced.
As you may have guessed, you play Doshin in what is one of the most original, imaginative games I've ever seen.
Doshin himself is a big yellow giant who looks like he has indeed been sculpted out of Play-Dough by a two-year old, with a slight look of a Jelly baby and Stone Cold Steve Austin about him as well.

Doshin can be good or evil (with the press of a button) depending on player preference.
All in all, the game has a very first-generation look to it.
The point we're making is that something will always be going on, even when players aren't there to experience it.

Space World 2001: Doshin the Giant - GameCube News at GameSpot
The game, starring Doshin, falls squarely in the god-games subgenre, as players must use Doshin to interact with the natives and the environments of a small tropical island.
Worms 3D is a pretty good strategy game, but taking the game into full 3D seems to have actually detracted from some of the depth found in the 2D games.
The game was originally released on the 64DD in Japan but has been overhauled graphically for its GameCube appearance.

It's going to have to be a heck of game to make up for no Animal Crossing though.
The game is subtitled but the text that appears onscreen is not always the same, or as in-depth, as what is actually spoken.
Once you've completed a circle of hearts then Doshin will increase in size (it also possible to have a circle of hate icons which we'll take about later).

In any case, it is the biggest goal for me in this project of "Doshin, the Giant" to make the game where players unconsciously face their profound spirit.
If the 64DD is not released in the U.S., this game MAY be one of the titles that will be transferred to cartridge.
I think you've already known about the big-hit Japanese games such as "Mario" and "Final Fantasy." However, as in the movie world there are not only Hollywood movies like "Titanic" but also the low-budgeted, unique independent movies and the high-quality European movies, there are some not-so-high-budgeted games with unique originality in Japan.

Noticing that time might be a stress factor for the player, especially if combined with the laziness of the giant, Param has made sure that the number of days is infinite.
The area that Doshin surveys is huge, and it takes a good five minutes to get from one end to the other.
Especially well-thought is the idea of snatching pictures anytime during the game, but there are also other insightful features such as the “book of giant,” complete with comparative graphs of the different days’ work.

One other key element in the game is the ability to take villagers from a village (of which there are initially four at the start of the game, each with a specific colour) and place them with whatever other villages you choose.
However - and this’ll be the most fun part for many players - if you don’t complete the objectives correctly, or if you turn into the evil giant Jashin, you get skull icons (also known as hate emotions).

No matter how mellow you make yourself, though, there's going to be a point in the game where you think, "humans be damned!" and start stomping on them and smashing up their houses.
There's not much in the way of goals or structure; you just wander round doing what you want most of the time, which is fun in a mellow kind of way but as you might imagine isn't going to be for everyone.
