Topic: Aruze

Las Vegas SUN: Japanese firm in deal with Wynn
Aruze is currently trying to land a Nevada gaming license -- and ran into difficulties with state gaming regulators in September.
Aruze is Japan's equivalent of International Game Technology, controlling 45 percent of that nation's $1.5 billion pachinko (gaming machine) market.
However, Wynn and Aruze would not need to receive control board permission for their deal, as Valvino Lamore surrendered its gaming license when the Desert Inn closed in August.

Aruze Group is seeking to gain some real international presence in video gaming, as they have in casino and pachinko gaming.
Aruze is really making a big effort in showing off their new acquisition and strategies for future gaming.
SNK in partnership with Aruze has pumped out some incredible Pachinko and Slot machine games (as we first reported back 4 months ago in May 1, 2000) to be introduced to casinos around the world.

Japanese company bets on casinos - The Honolulu Advertiser - Hawaii's Newspaper
Aruze may need to clear tax-evasion charges to complete a casino project with partner Steve Wynn in Las Vegas, where Okada wants to gain the experience he needs to build casinos in Japan.
TOKYO — Aruze Corp. President Kazuo Okada, the billionaire who built Japan's largest maker of pachinko and slot machines, has hit two snags in his plan to bring Vegas-style casinos to Japan.
Meanwhile, before Aruze can go forward with Le Reve, it may need to clear allegations that it hid income from overseas subsidiaries to evade Japanese taxes.

Neo-Geo Forums - This dosen't look good... Vektologic in trouble?
It would seem that rather than dead, Aruze’s interests for the coin-op market are alive and well, if only hibernating, and they see themselves as the only providers of games for the SNK platforms, even though they have signed agreements with companies in Korea and Japan to develop licenses held by SNK.
Those in the Japanese amusement sector see Aruze's threats of legal action as attempting to stop game developers from poaching their property, an analogy given by one Japanese source was described as such:
Ya, it seems as if SNK has taken the stace that Vektorlogic is going to be in direct competition with them but the fact of the matter is that we have't seen much from SNK as of late (anything other than rumers that is).

Also, and this is a critique I had of Shadow Hearts the first time around, requiring a successful Judgment Ring “hit” in order to use a healing herb or some other nonmagical item is taking the otherwise-compelling battle system a bit too far.
Graphically, the title marks a huge step forward for Aruze; while Shadow Hearts was sharp-looking, it was also a very early PS2 title, and looked like one.
